In terms of pronunciation ease, consider the Arabic word for 'scale,' which is 'meezaan.' This term is derived from the verb 'wazana' meaning to weigh. According to the principles of sarf, objects associated with actions typically follow a sound pattern known as 'mif’aal.' However, applying this rule would yield 'meewzaan,' a form that proves cumbersome to articulate. Therefore, to ease pronunciation, the 'waw' is substituted with a 'yaa,' resulting in 'meezaan.' Such adjustments are governed by established principles within sarf.

For example, in the Qur’an, Allah refers to Himself as 'al-musaawir,' meaning 'the fashioner.'
